Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji Kainkarya Sabha was founded on Sri Swamiji's Tirunakshatram day in the month of Aippasi in 2015, by the alumni Vedic students of Sri Sandeepani Gurukulam-traditional Veda patasalas inspired by Sri Swamiji. The prime objective of this Sabha is to protect and nurture the Vedas and Shastras which are the very root of our religion. Protecting the Vedas and Shastras means inspiring and enthusing those who learn and study them, and through them ensuring the continuance of learning in future generations also. Hence this Sabha periodically conducts Veda parayanam, Shastra Sadas and honors Vedic vidwans and Shastric pandits. Events organized thus far include a Chaturveda parayanam, separate complete parayanams of Sama, Rig, Shukla Yajur and Atharva Vedas, and multiple Krishna Yajur Veda krama parayanams. Ekaki Rigveda sampoorna ghanaparayanam was also held for 45 days in the form of ghanapariksha. In addition, this Sabha has facilitated the grant of an appropriate monetary financial support to 15 students of shastras, for the past one year. As mentioned above, this Sri Shankara Jayanti Shastra Mahotsavam also is going to be organized by this Sabha.
Just as we celebrate Sri Rama Navami, Sri Krishnashtami and other such auspicious occasions grandly, our Sri Guru Maharaj's heart is that we also need to similarly celebrate the jayanti of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavadpada who rejuvenated our religion at a crucial juncture and made it flourish. Hence Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji Kainkarya Sabha trust is organising this Shastra Mahotsavam; vidwans who have the Shastras and its foundation, the Vedas, as their very life, shall recite the Pada-Vakya-Pramana shastras, the Vedaangas, Veda Bhashyam, etc. Over 50 erudite vidwans will participate in this event and showcase their scholarship (pANDityam).
Along with this, every evening there will also be discourses based on Sri Adi Shankara's works. Five pandits will also elucidate on the sweetness and greatness of Sri Adi Shankara's works in Tamil, in a way that can be understood by one and all. We earnestly invite everyone to participate in this grand event and be recipients of the grace of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavadpada.
